Dubrovnik Game of Thrones tour

While the series itself is filmed in various European locations, Dubrovnik is now the official setting for King’s Landing – the capital of the Seven Kingdoms realm. We will start our tour in the Old Town of Dubrovnik, location chosen to represent Kings Landing – the capital of Westeros. It is no coincidence that Dubrovnik was also a capital city in its own right – of the now extinct Republic of Ragusa. The tour continues through the Pile Gate where King Joffrey faced the rage of the peasant uprising and proceeds towards the St. Lawrence’s fortress (Lovrijenac), which in the series represents the Red Keep. Our next stop is the Rector’s Palace located on the Dubrovnik’s main street, and by seeing it you will surely recognize the magical city of Qarth. After that we will visit the harbour, the marketplace, the Minceta Fortress and end our tour on the Revelin Square which overlooks the island of Lokrum (used for filming more Qarth scenes and the location of the Tomb of the Undying) and the Zarkovica hill (where Khal Drogo died).
