Tour Details

Follow the spine of the Danube and into the Alps on a 15‑day journey linking Zagreb, Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna, Salzburg, Graz, Ljubljana and Venice. This itinerary is crafted for travelers who want big‑picture history, great city atmospheres, and enough free time to actually enjoy them.

Begin in Zagreb’s Upper and Lower Town before diving into the emerald lakes and waterfalls of UNESCO‑listed Plitvice. Continue to Budapest for castle‑top views, riverside promenades and a free day for markets, hilltop lookouts or a long soak in a classic thermal bath. From there, trace the Danube north to compact Bratislava, then into Vienna’s ring of palaces, concert halls and coffeehouses, including a full visit to Schönbrunn and the Hofburg area.

Turn west toward Salzburg, where Mozart, Baroque façades and Alpine backdrops set the tone for a leisurely stay with options like Hohensalzburg Fortress or Sound of Music scenery. Swing back east to Graz, climbing the Schlossberg for Clock Tower views before crossing into Slovenia. In Ljubljana, castle views, riverside promenades and a day trip to storybook Lake Bled showcase the Alpine crossroads character.

Finish in Venice, arriving by boat into the historic centre to wander San Marco, St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace exterior and the Rialto Bridge. Throughout, private transfers, centrally located hotels and expert local guides keep logistics effortless, so you can relax into the rhythm of Europe’s imperial capitals, river cities and mountain gateways.
